Pretty and small but a few flaws 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I "upgraded" to this camera from my previous DSC-N1. I have always had Sony cameras and I love them in general. They take beautiful pictures, are easy to use and I've had very few problems with them. This is my fourth. I take A LOT of pictures. My kids consider me their personal paparazzi, so I do give my cameras a workout. I was swayed into getting this camera because I liked the way it looked, but there are a few things about it I find disappointing. I have a Sony Vaio computer and in the past, I have always just popped my memory stick (with the adapter for the duo) into my computer to transfer the pictures. That way I don't have to mess with cables since I am using a laptop. This camera has 4 GB of internal memory, which is a great feature. However, you can't choose to save to the memory stick pro duo instead. The camera will only allow you to use that when the internal memory is full. That is a huge disappointment for me. Unless you fill the internal memory and keep it full all the time, you can't use the memory stick. Also, the position of the lens is very close to the top of the camera. This means when some people use it (doesn't usually happen to me), they put their finger right over it. So I end up with lots of pictures with fingers over the people. I think it is because the camera is so small, it is hard to get a good grip on it. My last complaint is the button for viewing the pictures. I think it is awkward and hard to press. All in all, very nice camera. But there are definite improvements to be made.

Cyber-shot T2 (white finish) offers superb quality plus huge on-board memory to store all your pictures. Quick, easy image upload to blogs and photo sharing web sites.

pretty good 5 out of 5 stars.

this is a pretty good camera case. nothing falls out and it's very stylish. the magnetic closure is good, except i don't know the effects of magnets near cameras so that's potentially problematic. but overall for me, its' a good case for my sony.

Great product, perfect fit 4 out of 5 stars.

This carrying case fits my camera perfectly. My only teeny-tiny grumble is that the wrist-strap doesn't somehow loop through the carrying case (like the old one I had for another camera). When I take a picture, I have to figure out where to put the case because there's no loop or belt clip. That being said, it is otherwise a perfect fit and very sleek and I've had a ton of compliments on it already

Do not buy this camera 1 out of 5 stars.

If you want a camera that at least takes some decent quality pictures DO NOT buy Sony Cybershot T70... image quality sucks... I regret I did not go for the Canon IS1100.

Sony's Flagship Camera 5 out of 5 stars.
10 of 11 people found this review helpful.

Sony has finally claimed the high ground with its long awaited full frame sensor. And at 24 megapixels, it matches the nominal 4,000 lines-per-inch resolution of 35 mm film. The camera is well built with plenty of buttons to control its functions. It is easy to use and produces stunning picture quality when used with high end Zeiss, Sony or Minolta lenses.

Indeed, a few discussions on the Digital Photography Review forums compare the A900 to a Hasselblad medium format camera equipped with a 31 megapixel digital sensor, and conclude by questioning whether a medium format camera is necessary any longer in view of the outstanding performance of the A900. However, the comparison between these two cameras was made on the basis of photos taken in the daylight instead of in dim light, and even though some of the photos were taken at ISO 800, these photos are more useful for comparing the resolution of the two cameras than for comparing their relative noise characteristics.

To continue with this thought, it must be said that the A900's high resolution sensor is somewhat susceptible to image noise. Packing 24 megapixels into this full frame sensor means that each pixel collects less light per unit time than does each pixel of a 12 megapixel full frame sensor. In consequence, the 24 megapixel sensor is less immune to noise than the 12 megapixel sensor. Noise becomes apparent in A900 photos at ISO 800. In contrast, the Nikon D700 Nikon D700 12.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) and Canon 5D Canon EOS 5D 12.8 MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) both have 12 megapixel full frame sensors and consequently introduce less noise than the A900.

The photographer can decide either to perform noise reduction in the camera or to use noise reduction software such as Noise Ninja or Neat that can operate as plug-ins to Adobe Photoshop. In camera noise reduction is more convenient, but Sony's noise reduction appears to be less effective than noise reduction that is applied inside Nikon and Canon cameras. On the other hand, noise reduction software is more flexible than in camera noise reduction and benefits from the use of noise profiles that can help to preserve image detail. Another argument in favor of noise reduction software is the fact that Adobe Photoshop is useful for removing other artifacts such as vignetting and chromatic aberration, so why not use it as well for noise reduction? If noise reduction software is used instead of in camera noise reduction, the relative ineffectiveness of the Sony in camera noise reduction is not a consideration.

Moreover, the A900 places large demands on the computer where images are stored and post processed. The best image quality is obtained from RAW mode which consumes 36 megabytes per image file and stores 12 bits per pixel. Compressed RAW (cRAW) mode, which consumes 24 megabytes per image file and appears to store only 8 bits per pixel, may be less useful for subsequent photo editing. And opening one of these 36 megabyte RAW image files using Adobe Photoshop CS3 on my PowerPC-based Mac Mini requires 100 seconds. In contrast, a 13 megabyte RAW image file from my A100 requires only 30 seconds to open.

The high resolution of the 24 megapixel sensor is achievable only with high end lenses such as the Zeiss 85mm f1.4, 135mm f1.8, 24-70mm f2.8 and (presumably) the newly announced 16-35mm f2.8, as well as the Sony G and Minolta G lenses. My own measurements with the Imatest lens test software reveal that many of the lower quality, non-G Minolta lenses (and presumably also the equivalent Sony lenses) are not sharp enough to exploit the sensor. (Exceptions to this statement include the Minolta 28mm f2, 50mm f1.4 and 70-210mm f4 lenses, which are not G lenses but are close to G in quality.) So be prepared to purchase an expensive set of lenses if you want to get the most out of the A900.

For these reasons, the A900 is a camera best suited to those who demand, and are willing to pay for the highest possible resolution from a digital SLR. Sony has left a void in its product line for those who would prefer to invest less money in camera, lenses and computer. The next step down in the Sony product line is the A700 Sony Alpha A700 12.24MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) which, although an excellent camera, has a 12 megapixel half frame sensor instead of a full frame sensor. Perhaps Sony should consider introducing a camera with a 12 megapixel full frame sensor that would place fewer demands on the computer and lenses than does the 24 megapixel sensor. Such a camera would retain the advantages of a full frame sensor and in addition provide more immunity to noise at high ISO, as do the Canon 5D and Nikon D700 cameras.

Editorial Review:

The flagship Sony A900 DSLR features a 35mm full-frame, 24.6-megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor, as well as SteadyShot INSIDE, the worlds first body-integrated image stabilization solution for a full-frame DSLR, and Dual BIONZ imaging processors that deliver continuous shooting up to 5 fps with superb image quality and ultra-low noise. The A900 also offers a large, ultra bright glass pentaprism viewfinder with 100-percent coverage, an Intelligent Preview function that lets you see the effects of manual adjustments on an image before you take the shot, and best-in-class viewing with a 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD photo-quality (921K pixels) display and HDMI output with PhotoTV HD compatibility.

Not all it should be 3 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this camera about 6 weeks ago with the optional Sony 75-300 mm lens. I took over 1100 pictures, including landscape, air show (w/ 300 lens) and on vacation in mountain terrain. I should note this was my first camera purchase in over 5 yrs, having used a Sony Mavica 5MP camera all these years. On auto mode the pictures were hit or miss, sometimes the sky was washed out in color, I'm talking about taking one picture after the other just seconds apart on a sunny cloudless day, other times it looked fine. I used aperature and shutter priority modes with mixed results, again just inconsistent exposure one shot to the next. It did not help that I got dust on the sensor when I put the very first lens on!
The one constant on all the pictures regardless of which mode I used was a lack of sharpness with either lens, in any zoom range. I have read the kit lenses are not the best and that detail suffers, I have to agree. When I looked at photo's taken using my old 5MP I noticed no difference, and acturally preferred the old camera's quality. I'm sure in an experienced DSLR user the results would have been different. In the end, the issue of dust on the sensor, did not realize this is common among DSLR camera's (of note I tried the camera's cleaning mode to no avail), the lack of pop in the pictures (a $500 lens upgrade would take care of that I imagine)and on top of that lugging around a bag with the other lens just took the fun out of taking pictures. I now know I was not ready or did not realize how much time a DSLR would require. So I returned the package, and have now purchased a prosumer camera, much easier to operate! I wrote this review mainly for people like me that have used a simple point and shoot for a few years and got carried up in all the hype the DSLR camera's have gotten lately. They will take the best pictures in the right hands, but for me an upgrade to DSLR was just too much of a jump. I gave 3 stars for disappointing detail and softness of the lenses. Just know what your getting into.

Title Misleading: actually pink/gray + blue/beige 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This product is actually 2 separate pouches. Both are reversible. They are identical in every way except that one is pink on one side and light gray on the other, and the other is baby blue on one side and light beige on the other.

According to the mini accessories catalog that came with my Cybershot, I suspect that the other color Sony LCS-CSK/B Draw-string style pouch Soft Carrying Case (Black) is actually one pouch that is black/red and another that is brown/dark blue.

Is actually 2 cases 5 out of 5 stars.
